Manufacturing Awards Winners Named
The winners of the Dayton Business Journal’s 2015 Manufacturing Awards were honored at a banquet on October 15 in downtown Dayton. The companies honored represent all facets of Dayton’s manufacturing industry. Awards were up for grabs in the following categories; community improvement. exporting, innovation, safety, sustainability, and workforce training. Enginetics Aerospace, Midmark, Prime Controls, and Staub Manufacturing Solutions were honored as finialists for the Overall Excellence Award. Cincinnati’s Largest-Ever Speculative Building In Development
IDI Gazeley is developing Cincinnati’s largest-ever speculative industrial building at its Park North at Monroe project. Building 8 will have nearly 23 acres of space under roof, nearly 1 million square feet. Construction has already started on the approximately $40 million project. PAS Technologies of Hillsboro, Ohio, is one of 20 finalists for IndustryWeek’s Best Plant award. IndsutryWeek said finalists demonstrated admirable manufacturing performance metrics, as well as practices and programs that exhibit a comprehensive focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. More than 2400 Manufacturers Open Doors for MFG Day
Across the country, more than 2400 manufacturers hosted events celebrating manufacturing on October 2. Locally, more than 3,000 students from 50 schools across the region participated in a Manufacturing Day event. The Manufacturing Institute’s Jennifer McNelly wrote a post on why this matters.
